A police investigation is underway following a house fire in the Humber Valley Resort near Little Rapids yesterday.

Smoke was noticed from the Trans Canada by an RNC officer just before 2:00 yesterday afternoon, and they turned in to investigate.

Fire services were called, and traffic control was put in place.

The owner of the property was able to confirm that the house was vacant at the time.

Local residents attempted to put the fire out, but it spread to nearby woods and a waterbomber was sent to the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
