A sea of people descended on the Bowring Park area yesterday for the annual CIBC Run for the Cure, a fundraiser for breast cancer.
The final tally shows about $130,000 raised to help fund research.
Participants did either the 1k or 5k on a pleasant and clear Sunday morning.
Organizers of the run noted the presence of the Wheels in Motion program, an endeavour of the Canadian Cancer Society. That program helps provide free transportation for people who lack the means of getting to and from their appointments for treatment.
