The unemployment rate in Newfoundland and Labrador took a hit last month, jumping to over 9 per cent.
It had dropped to 8.6 in August, but it was 9.1 in September.
All other jurisdictions have a jobless rate of under 8 per cent.
The metro region enjoys numbers similar to those of comparable cities in the Maritimes at 6.6 per cent. Halifax is 5.5 and Moncton 7.6.
