Eight people from Newfoundland and Labrador will be named to the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador at the end of the month.
The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes individuals in the province who have proven to be outstanding examples of achievement through their contributions to society.
The eight people being inducted are Jim Burton, Elaine Dobbin, Robert Lyall, Helen Murphy, Myles Murphy, Susan Rose, Gordon Slade and Bruce Templeton.
Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote stated in a release “it allows us an opportunity to recognize some truly remarkable people. The eight individuals being invested this year are certainly deserving, with each having spent decades of their lives in making this a better province for all who live here.”
The ceremony will take place on January 29 at Government House.
