A sunny and warm day is on tap for the Avalon and Burin Peninsulas today, but things are expected to turn overnight and tomorrow with a drop in temperatures and a significant amount of rain expected.
It will be humid today, with a humidex in the low 30s for most. However, the temperatures will drop off tonight with highs tomorrow only reaching around 11 degrees.
According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Todd Ansted, that’s due to a cold front that will combine with a low-pressure system. Coming with that will be a significant amount of rain, between 30 and 40 mm. There is a possibility we could see up to 50 mm, but Ansted isn’t committing to that number just yet.
Temperatures remain steady around 11 for Thursday, but Ansted says things will become more seasonal on Friday, and it should be a nice day.
