Provincial Airlines announced yesterday that it has added extra capacity to serve the province.
Since the Atlantic bubble opened, some residents are starting to venture further from home.
Janine Browne, Director of Business Development and Sales with PAL Airlines, says people are becoming more comfortable with flying and the demand is increasing.
Besides having to wear masks, she says the airline has stringent cleaning protocols with enhanced biosecurity measures.
She says they are performing non-contact temperature checks at check-in, they have enhanced disinfecting measures including fogging of their aircraft regularly, reduced touch points both at check-in and onboard, and they are seating bubbles together.
Browne notes that Pal is the sole provider for some communities in the province and with Air Canada cutting services, they are trying to fill the need.
