The minister of health says personal care workers entering Blue Crest Cottages in Grand Bank have adequate access to the protective equipment they need in light of a recent COVID-19 case at the facility.
Dr. John Haggie, who says the retirement home operates under the guidance of Eastern Health, calls the issue of PPE an operational one that is up to that health authority to address.
Haggie assures there is enough equipment ready for use. He says there is no PPE shortage, and that their supplies are at about 80 per cent of where they would like them to be in the event of a surge in cases.
