Although the Newfoundland Growlers are still off the ice, they are keeping busy by partnering with the local LGBTQ+ community.
The You Can Play Project works to ensure safety and inclusion for all who participate in sports.
The Growlers say that they can achieve this by creating community of allies to foster a sense of belonging.
The team will be selling tank tops that say “Stand Proud” in pride colours styled vertically across the back.
Five dollars from each top will go directly to the project.
The Growlers will also host a pride-themed game at Mile One Centre during the 2020-2021 season.
