A mixture of seawater and production fluids at Hibernia leaked from the platform and created a sheen Monday.
It was located about 2.5 km from the platform and confirmed by vessel observation according to the C-NLOPB.
The Hibernia Management and Development Company immediately shut-in production and isolated the discharge. It then deployed a tracker, but the volume of the discharge has yet to be determined.
No affected wildlife have been observed to date but monitoring continues from the platform and vessels dispatched to conduct visual observations.
