45-year-old Mount Pearl man is facing impaired driving charges after the vehicle he was driving was stopped on the Trans Canada last week for extreme speed.
RCMP pulled the vehicle over near Sunnyside after being clocked at 153 km/h.
The driver failed a roadside breath test, and was arrested for impaired driving.
He was ticketed for speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign and having studded tires in addition to having open alcohol in a vehicle and cannabis readily available.
He’s been released to appear in court at a later date.
