Warm temperatures on Monday’s civic holiday meant a run for the beaches in Conception Bay North.
Both Salmon Cove Sands and Northern Bay Sands were at capacity throughout the day prompting a warning from RCMP about traffic congestion along the main highway.
Beach destinations were so sought after people even started flocking to places like Broad Cove, which doesn’t normally see a big influx of bathers.
Many area residents remarked they had never seen anything like it before.
