There are no longer any active cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The three active cases in Central Newfoundland have resolved themselves, according to Health Minister John Haggie.
The total number of recoveries has reached 263, while 26,010 people have been tested for the virus.
Haggie says Premier-designate Andrew Furey has only begun his briefings and will join the COVID-19 updates as soon as he is comfortable and in position to do so.
Even though there are no cases, Haggie commented on the beach gatherings this week, asking whether such activities are wise. He says physical distancing remains the main tool in preventing the spread, all they can do is offer advice.
Meanwhile, the Minister says there has been about a 700 per cent uptake in the use of virtual care, and says he believes it’s here to stay.
Haggie says virtual care is lower-risk and more convenient for many people.
