Parents will be allowed to accompany kindergarten students to their first day of class this week, but what that will look like will depend on each school.
Education Minister Tom Osborne says the first day of kindergarten is a major milestone in a child’s life, and he understands how important that transition is for families.
He says no two schools will have the same plan because there are so many different variables.
In some schools, a reception area may be created allowing two parents to accompany the child to the gymnasium for instance, and one parent then goes on to the assigned classroom with the child.
