The provincial budget will be coming down September 30.
The budget had been delayed due to the global pandemic and public health measures imposed to help halt the spread of the virus in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady provided the update this morning amid questions related to the tabling of another interim supply bill in the House of Assembly on Monday.
Minister Coady says the budget will reflect the economic update delivered in July. The projected deficit at that time was $2.1-billion, with a reported increase in expenses of $720-million—mostly related to the pandemic.
Coady says a three-month interim supply bill is being tabled next week to allow enough time to debate the budget and the Estimates Committee process.
