A telling sign that winter is just around the corner, snowfall warnings have been issued for parts of the island tonight as temperatures get set to drop again.
Environment Canada has issued warnings for parts of southern, eastern and northeastern Newfoundland, which may see between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow by the time the system comes to an end.
Snowfall amounts will likely be higher across inland areas. Coastal regions may see precipitation start as rain or wet snow tonight. The snow will combine with strong winds in exposed areas by tomorrow morning.
A wind warning has also been issued for the Bonavista Peninsula, with gusts in the range of 100 km/h expected over exposed areas.
Environment Canada cautions that conditions may deteriorate rapidly, with reduced visibility at times.
