The federal minister of Natural Resources says he has heard from some residents in his riding who are concerned by letters they’ve received from the CRA about having to repay the money they’ve collected from the CERB program.
Seamus O’Regan says only a small number of people will be followed up with to make sure they make the proper repayments.
He said it was important to get CERB out quickly, which is why some were able to receive money even if they didn’t exactly qualify.
O’Regan is encouraging everyone to talk to the CRA or your local MP if necessary. He says most people will not need to worry, as only a small number of people will be affected.
