The official opposition is calling on the provincial government to provide support for a local entrepreneur after landing the deal of a lifetime.
27-year-old Mark Brace of Bishop’s Falls, the CEO of Ocean Floor Granite, recently landed the biggest deal in the history of the CBC TV program Dragon’s Den.
His pitch highlighted Newfoundland as one of the few places in North America that can produce jet-black granite. He’s hoping to turn his company into one of the largest granite suppliers in the world.

Pleaman Forsey, the PC MHA for Exploits, says the company is asking for a repayable loan from the government to make the project happen, but so far government has not offered any support.
Forsey is calling for government support to help create jobs in the region.
