A Brigus man accused of sexually assaulting an elderly resident of the Bay Roberts Retirement Centre is expected to enter a plea when he returns to Harbour Grace provincial court in March.
44-year-old Chris Power is facing a charge of sexual assault, two counts of uttering forged documents, three counts of falsifying documents and one count of using the title of licensed practical nurse when not qualified to do so.
RCMP began investigating last August after receiving a complaint that Power, a personal care attendant, sexually assaulted a resident at the retirement home. He was arrested at the home on August 16 but wasn’t formally charged until late September.
There is a publication ban on the identity of the alleged victim.
Power, meanwhile, remains free on several court-imposed conditions until his next court appearance on March 3.
