The Mayor of St. John’s is very concerned about the future of air travel and the impact it will have on the capital city and province even after the pandemic.
Danny Breen has reached out to Air Canada to learn more about the temporary suspension of its Toronto – St. John’s direct flight effective January 23rd.
The airline is also shutting down its stations in Gander and Goose Bay.
Mayor Breen says the announcement is disappointing.
He wants to find out what the temporary suspension means and how long it will last.
Breen says while the move will have an immediate impact rotational workers and others who need the service, he’s most concerned about what it means for the future of airline services to St. John’s.
