The City of St. John’s has decided to move some of the trees planted recently in an east end St. John’s park.
Area residents expressed frustration earlier this week after numerous trees were planted in a well-used, open portion of Tupper Laurier Park.
Many complained that the trees suddenly restricted families’ use of the green space.
Mayor Danny Breen and city staff have since met with residents and a decision was made to move many of the trees to other locations.
The city says further details on the relocation will be released in the near future.
