Rescuers were called out to help an injured hiker on the East Coast Trail last night.
The RNC got the call shortly before 8 p.m. and summoned the Rovers Search and Rescue unit and the Coast Guard.
They located the hiker in the Cape St. Francis area but not before several hours had elapsed.
The 44-year-old had to be carried out by a search team. He was sent to hospital but police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
