A wake for soccer legend Gord Dunphy will be held in St. John’s Saturday.
Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home on Lemarchant Road from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
A second visitation is scheduled for Monday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Lawrence with a vigil scheduled for 8 p.m.
The funeral mass, which will be limited to 300 people due to COVID restrictions, will take place at the St. Lawrence Recreation Center on Tuesday at 10 a.m. After family, people will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.
Dunphy, a soccer hall of famer with more than 50 years devoted to the sport, passed away on Thursday.
Donations in his memory can be made to the Mary Queen of Peace Food Bank in St. John’s or the Mount Cecilia Cemetery Fund in St. Lawrence.
A moment of silence was held for Dunphy ahead of various soccer games across the island on Friday.
