Newfoundland Power has restored electricity to an area of St. John’s following equipment issues, Tuesday evening.
Reports to the VOCM Newsroom indicate that there were two explosions before the power dropped in parts of Pleasantville.
According to Newfoundland Power’s website, service returned around 8 p.m.

Fire crews have blocked off a portion of East White Hills Road near Country Ribbon after a transformer blew, knocking out power to roughly 700 residents in the Pleasantville area of St. John’s.
Reports to the VOCM Newsroom indicate that there were two explosions before the power dropped.
Newfoundland Power crews will have to fix the downed lines before electricity can be restored to the area. They estimate power will be restored at around 7:30 p.m.
Residents are advised to avoid the area for the meantime.
