The provincial government is inviting input on proposed amendments to the provincial Coat of Arms Act.
The Coat of Arms was originally granted in 1637—the official legal description of which includes outdated language.
The amended Coat of Arms Act will add Labrador to that legal description and removes the word “savages” in the description of the two Beothuck shown standing on either side of the shield.
Online consultation will open until Friday, September 17.
