The George Street Association is calling the cab shortage in the metro region a transportation crisis.

Some people have reported lengthy delays getting a cab thanks to a taxi shortage.

Don-E Coady, the Communications and Marketing Director for the George Street Association, says they’re working with the City of St. John’s, their partners, and the taxi industry to figure out a solution.

He says the association is interested in the discussion on the business side, but also for their patrons who want to enter the downtown and enjoy the night-life.
