RCMP have charged a student following a recent threat made against St. James Regional High School in Port aux Basques.
While at the school on Wednesday, September 22nd on an unrelated matter, RCMP were notified of a threat made to cause harm to staff and students at the school.
The school was placed in secure school mode as a result.
The source of the threat, a student within the school, was quickly identified and the young person was taken into custody without incident.
No weapon is believed to have been involved.
The young accused is charged with uttering threats and mischief under $5000 dollars and damage to property.
The young person has been released to appear in court at a later date.
