RCMP in Deer Lake are hoping the public can help them identify three people who fled from police on dirt bikes on the weekend.

An officer noticed three dirt bikes speeding on Wight’s Road in Deer Lake around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The officer attempted to pull the bikes over by flicking on the lights of the patrol car, but instead of stopping, the bikes sped off onto Old Bonne Bay Road.

Police say the high rate of speed put pedestrians and other drivers at risk. The officer did not pursue the dirt bikes in the interest of safety.

Pictures of the three dirt bike drivers have been released publicly.
