The Calgary Flames built up an early 4-0 lead over the New Jersey Devils and never looked back despite the best efforts of Dawson Mercer on the eve of his 20th birthday.
The Bay Roberts native scored his second goal of the year and added an assist but the Flames hung on for a 5-3 victory. Mercer now has four points on the young season.
