A 24-year-old Gander man is in police custody following a robbery at Walmart in Gander Friday morning.
RCMP were called to the store around 9:45 a.m. Friday after a man reportedly pulled a knife on staff who tried to intercept him as he attempted to leave the store with a cart load of merchandise.
Employees backed off and the man left the scene on foot. He was located and arrested by police a short time later on a wooded trail nearby.
The man is facing a number of charges including robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and possession of stolen property.
