A piece of heavy equipment was used to break into a metro area bank early this morning.
The RNC responded to the Scotiabank in Galway around 2:30 a.m. after alarm bells started going off.
The building sustained extensive damage to the drive-thru ATM, the roof, as well as grounds and signage around the bank that were ripped up by the equipment.
Police continue to investigate.
It’s not clear how much, if any money the culprits may have gotten away with.
