Newfoundland and Labrador’s Katarina Roxon has won a medal and set a Canadian record at the Para Swimming Championships in Portugal.
Roxon, who hails from Kippens, claimed a bronze in the 100-metre breaststroke yesterday, during the final day of the Madeira 2022 World Para Swimming Championships.

She also placed 6th in the 50 metre freestyle earlier in the competition.
The 29-year-old Roxon won silver and bronze at the same event in 2019.
She struck gold at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in the 100-metre breaststroke in record time, and was also a member of the 2008 and 2012 Olympic teams.
