Teachers with the NLTA’s Labrador West bargaining unit have voted to accept an agreement reached between the provincial government and school boards.
The union’s negotiating team had recommended acceptance of the deal.
NLTA President Trent Langdon says the union is pleased with the outcome and offered his thanks to the negotiation teams.
The new collective agreement includes “positive” movement on salaries, including a retroactive increase, as well as improvements around leave and housing.
A committee has also been struck to look into issues with recruitment and retention of teachers in Labrador West.
