Government House is hoping they can put the ‘annual’ back in the garden party after a successful return yesterday.
Hundreds roamed the grounds of the Military Road mansion.
They were entertained by musical acts including the CLB Band, as well as the Signal Hill Tattoo and RNC Mounted Unit. Cookies, lemonade, tea and coffee were served by Girl Guides and Scouts.
Among those enjoying the party and fine weather was Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Cole.
He says he loves taking in the event, but missed it the last couple of years, adding that getting the co-operation of the weather was just what the doctor ordered. Cole also praised the beauty of the Government House property as a gem for the City of St. John’s.
