The opposition is calling on government to work with airlines to increase the number of international flights in the province.
PC MHA Craig Pardy says with the recent announcements made involving the province and international partners, international travel will only increase.
He says the lack of international flights may have a negative impact on the economy in the coming years.
Pardy worries the province’s tourism industry may fall short compared to other Atlantic Canadian provinces that offer direct flights from parts of Europe.
He’s calling on Steve Crocker, the Minister of Tourism, to work with airlines to offer more international routes.
