CUPE remains optimistic that the labour dispute involving municipal workers in the city of Mount Pearl can be resolved, and they’re asking for the city to take disciplinary action against some of their members off the table.
CUPE NL President Sherry Hillier says while she doesn’t speak for the local, she believes the strike can be resolved.
She says the agreement on the table is “excellent” but the disciplinary action needs to be removed in order for them to ratify the deal and go back to work.
