What started out as a dream-like late-night search on his phone, has finally become a reality today in Winterton, Trinity Bay for a Grammy-winning and world-renowned music producer.
LA-based Canadian music producer Greg Wells has worked with artists like Keith Urban, Celine Dion, Taylor Swift and Rufus Wainwright, but has deep roots in Trinity Bay.
Wells was putting his daughter to bed in LA when he drifted off to sleep. When he stirred, he had the overwhelming feeling that there was a property available that he had to buy. On his phone he found a real estate listing for the old United Church in Winterton which is strongly connected to his family, but soon learned that the real estate posting was old and the building was sold. That’s when he found a similar listing for the nearby Anglican Church, and he bought it.

Trinity Hall, Winterton.
Over the last year or so he has been sympathetically converting the church building into a performance space, keeping as much of the original features as possible—but the nearby annex has been completely re-developed into a state-of-the-art modern recording studio.
The dream becomes reality as Trinity Hall officially opens to the public today at noon. Wells says it’s been a lot of work, but he’s pleased with the results.
“It really is a dream come true,” says Wells, and he’s excited about opening it up to the public.
Trinity Hall officially opens today at noon with a shuttle service from designated parking spaces to the church.
