Condolences are pouring in following the passing of World War II veteran Rod Deon.
Deon passed yesterday at the age of 102.
Premier Andrew Furey says there is “no doubt” Deon lived a full and adventurous life, and says the province is lucky that he was so willing to share his stories.

Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote says she spent time with Deon on many occasions, and got to witness the pride with which he spoke of his service to the country.
She says Deon will be missed, as will his presence at remembrance ceremonies during which he “stood tall and proud.”
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are mourning the passing of legendary WWII veteran Rod Deon. At 102 years old, there is no doubt Rod lived a full, adventurous life – and we are all lucky he was so willing to share his stories.
