Government is giving $10,000 to a conference for women who have cancer.

The money is for the 2023 Growing Our Strength Cancer Conference for Women at the Sheraton in the fall.

This year’s event is open to women who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer.

The Co-Chair of the Cancer Care Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, Joan Aucoin, says it will be a weekend of connection, education, inspiration and support.

Health Minister Tom Osbourne sees it as a great opportunity for persons diagnosed with cancer to network and socialize in a relaxing atmosphere.
