The Registered Nurses Union has ratified a new four-year agreement with the province.
The agreement was discussed over a 10-day period, with just over 80 per cent voting to accept the contract. The union had previously been working without a contract since June 2022.
Included in the new deal is a two per cent wage increase each year from 2022-2026, a one-time employee recognition bonus of $2,000, improvements to recruit and retain permanent full-time employees and flexibility with statutory holidays.
Also included is a new mentorship program to support nurses working in a new environment.
The RNU represents around 5,800 members across the province.
