An arrest has been made after a woman was robbed and assaulted at a Mount Pearl bank machine last week.
It happened early Friday morning, just after midnight, at the ATM inside the bank on Commonwealth Avenue.
Police say the woman was completing a transaction in the foyer of the bank when a man walked in, assaulted and stole money from her.
It’s not clear if she was injured or how much cash was involved. Nor did police identify the bank in question.
The male suspect fled the scene before police could get there. But he was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, a few hours after police released images of the suspect to media and they were posted online.
Thirty-two-year-old Justin James White faces a single charge of robbery with violence.
He appeared briefly in court today, and remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday afternoon.
