The RCMP say the efforts to locate a woman reported missing from Nain have been exhausted and while the missing person’s case remains open, the formal search has concluded.
Fifty-one-year-old Elizabeth Jararuse was last seen in Nain on December 30th.
Police received the missing persons report on January 4th and search efforts were quickly arranged with the help of Nain Ground Search and Rescue as well as community volunteers.
While poor weather delayed an air search, aircraft were able to get up in the air on January 12th, and a police dog was brought in on January 14th to help with the ground search.
RCMP say searchers saturated the community and surrounding area over a 12-day span, with many areas searched, and searched again.
Anyone with information on the location of Elizabeth Jararuse is asked to contact Nain RCMP.
