A 26-year-old man is facing firearms charges following an incident in the St. Theresa’s Court area of St. John’s on the weekend.
RNC were called about an incident around 8:40 Saturday evening.
Responding officers determined that a man had presented a firearm to a number of people in the area before fleeing on foot.
Police located the suspect at a home in the centre city area around 1:00 Sunday morning.
The accused was charged with numerous firearms-related charges, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and breach of probation.
The full list of charges against him include:
- Using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats
- Breach of probation
Meanwhile, a 44-year-old St. John’s woman was charged with obstructing a police officer and was held in custody pending a court appearance.
