The RNC has identified 30-year-old Terry Griffin as the victim of a shooting on Salter Place in St. John’s yesterday morning.
Griffin was found dead inside a home after RNC received reports of shots fired around 10:40 yesterday morning.
A suspect was identified in what police are calling a targeted attack, and a shelter in place order was issued as police conducted their investigation.
RNC then contained a property on Gros Morne Place where the 48-year-old suspect was taken into custody on previous separate charges of uttering threats and assault with a weapon. Griffin was one of the victims in that incident.
The investigation remains active and no charges have yet been laid in connection with the homicide.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says police are seeking any video footage that may help them in their investigation.
He says they’re looking for video footage in the area of Columbus Drive including Salter Place and Gros Morne Place between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
