A 41-year-old Bishop’s Falls man was charged criminally for driving at “very dangerous speeds” on the Trans Canada near Clarenville early Tuesday morning.
The driver was pulled over after being clocked at speeds of 174 km/h around 3:00.
RCMP Corporal Dave Bourden says the circumstances warranted a criminal charge.
He says there was precipitation at the time, it was dark and there are a lot of moose in the area. “Our officers at that point felt that not only was it just a ticket but it was a criminal offence, so dangerous operation.”
