A 44-year-old man has been charged following a violent attack at a home last week.

Bonavista RCMP say Arthur John Way was arrested after they were called to a home around 5:00 last Sunday morning.

The woman fled the home to call for help after being physically attacked.

She was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the incident.

Police say Way, who is already before the court on a number of other violent offences, was arrested at the home without incident a short time later.

He’s facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, property damage and three counts of breaching court orders.

He’s being held in custody pending his next court appearance on August 14th.
