The Nunatsiavut Government is celebrating 20 years of self-governance.
December 1st of this year marks the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.
The agreement made Nunatsiavut the first Inuit region in Canada to achieve self-governance.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is Inuit Voices, Inuit Vision, which Nunatsiavut says captures the essence of what the government stands for.
An anniversary logo will be used to promote the milestone with events planned leading up to December 1st.
