Two people who the RCMP are calling “prolific offenders” were arrested in Deer Lake on Tuesday following the seizure of drugs and cash.
Police started their investigation just before 2:30 p.m. after noticing a vehicle parked strangely on Middle Road.
They say drug paraphernalia could be seen inside the car. A further search turned up a quantity of cocaine and hydromorphone, cash, and items consistent with trafficking.
Now, 44-year-old Owen Barnes is facing two counts of drug trafficking and two counts of failing to comply with his probation.
The driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Danielle Wight, has been charged with failing to comply with her probation.
Both the accused appeared in court on Wednesday.
