The RCMP have laid several charges against a man in Sheshatshiu following an incident in the town on Thursday that resulted in people being asked to shelter in place.
Police first responded just after 1 p.m. to reports of a man who had threatened someone while in possession of a firearm. The suspect was seen travelling on foot through the community.
The accused, 38-year-old Matthew Andrew, was arrested without incident shortly after 3 p.m. and has been charged with two counts of uttering threats, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon of a dangerous purpose.
Andrew appeared in court today.
