RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor have arrested a 26-year-old man after a sequence of dramatic events over the weekend.
Officers tried to pull a car over on Hardy Avenue shortly after midnight on Sunday, but instead of stopping, the vehicle struck a marked police car before speeding away.
It was the same car that failed to pull over for police the previous day.
Another collision, involving the same car, was reported around 12:30 Sunday morning near Harris and Brown avenues.
The driver, identified as Cody Torraville, ran into nearby woods and was arrested a short time later without further incident.
He was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries and held in custody pending a court appearance.
He’s facing three counts of flight from police, assaulting a police officer, dangerous driving, driving while impaired by drug, failing to stop after an accident, and numerous counts of failing to comply with previous release orders.
