Construction on the next stage of the shared-use path in the university area begins next week, meaning traffic delays and other interruptions.

The city says this phase will involve Whiteway Street from Elizabeth Avenue.

The sidewalk on the south side of the street will be closed, but alternate routes will be provided. There will be some interruptions in water service but residents will be notified by hand-delivered letter.

The city says properties in the area may be subject to temporary loss of access, and community mailboxes will be relocated for a period of time.

Work is expected to be finished in October.
